Wellcome Community Action Summer Season 2019

Wellcome Community Action is a team volunteering campaign created by Wellcome in 2016 to support & establish relationships with grassroots projects local to their London office.

Wellcome Community Action is now in its fourth year and in 2019 took place between the Monday 1st – Friday 12th July, staff from across Wellcome formed teams and helped 11 fantastic projects over 15 days of digging in to their local community.

Staff reported that the day improved their mental health, helped them to get to know one another, and learn something new.

Wellcome have put together this short video which highlights 3 of the 11 community projects that Wellcome volunteered at this year.

The projects showcased in this video from Community Action Summer Season 2019 are:

‘This was such an amazing way to exercise skills that I don’t often get to exercise at work (but are useful to my job). Excellent for my mental health, a great way to put things in perspective and meet and appreciate some incredible people that broadened my horizons.’ – Wellcome volunteer

Graphic showing that 11 projects were supported, 13 causes supported, 15 champions trained and 32 goals achieved as part of the Wellcome Community Action Summer Season
