  • Our Story

West Moor Residents Associations aim/mission has always been to improve the lives, environment and experiences of those living in its community. Its Community has grown massively. We have been able to do so much more since moving into our own building in 2007.

It was initially a huge learning curve for the Trustees, to open up and run a Community Centre but by January 2020, we were the busiest we had ever been!!

West Moor Residents Association celebrated its 50th birthday in lockdown and in the middle of a worldwide pandemic! Despite the world shutting down, the Residents Association knew that they had to still be there for their community. During the last 10 months,  even though being in the North East of England we have been under additional restrictions for the majority of this time, we initially established our own helpful neighbour scheme. We have also clapped, baked, painted, celebrated and crafted. Both the Easter Bunny and Santa have visited and we have tried to keep the festive season special for the younger members of our community.

Our project it to keep going. To be there for our community, whether we are in lockdown, in Tier 3, 4 or 5 and more importantly,  still be there when we come out the other end.
