  The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) has maintained a top 10 position in the People & Planet Green League of Universities for 6 years, Sustainable Development is one of the Uni’s key Medium Term Strategies. The Uni has the Carbon Trust Standard an external standard that verifies the reduction of carbon emissions and ISO14001 certification for its Environmental Management System. Each February the Green Team organise a campus wide Green Week to raise awareness and encourage involvement of green improvements. Schools have targets to incorporate Sustainable Development into their curricula and related research is regularly undertaken throughout the University. The University has related plans for improvement including a Biodiversity Action Plan.
