  • Our Story

The Community Impact Initiative (The Cii) run housing renovation projects that enable disadvantaged/vulnerable groups to improve on health and wellbeing, learn new skills, gain qualifications and work towards employment through the renovation of empty and disused properties.

The Cii purchase empty and/or disused properties and create a project around the renovation of the property where we engage with the surrounding communities and invite referrals onto the project. Participants are then guided by our Construction Skills Tutors to learn construction skills and gain qualifications whilst our we work with each participant in a bespoke way to remove wellbeing barriers and support a pathway into employment. Although focused around construction skills, project participants learn a variety of transferrable skills which can be utilised away from the construction industry.

Upon the completion of any renovation, we then sell the property with all proceeds reinvested into the purchase of our next property.  These properties are normally in deprived areas where we look to involve the surrounding communities to maximise community benefit. A unique additional project outcome is that the local communities will be revitalised, with more, good quality and affordable housing available with reduced targets for anti-social behaviour.
