  • Our Story

The Calthorpe Project is a community garden in the heart of Camden, near King’s Cross. It is a green oasis in a built up are of London. People from diverse backgrounds participate and enrich acitivities that are offered by the Clathorpe project, including gardening, food growing and drop in play provision. The green space provides opportunities for social interaction, outdoor exercise and horticultural training. The site also features a 5 a side Futsal pitch.

Pocket Park funding will address poor access, from the public high way to the football pitch, improve the functionality, aesthetics and biodiversity value of this part of the garden. . The area currently feelsunwelcoming and unsafe, particularly in the evenings.

    The works will comprise of:

    – A new Breedon gravel path

    – Improved drainage

    – A rain garden adjacent to the building and pitch

    – Repairs to an existing brick wall

    – New raised beds with retaining railway sleepers

    – A new standpipe/ drinking fountain

    – A new bench
