Teen Action are a registered charity (1120268) supporting vulnerable and underprivileged young people from ethnic minorities in North London since 2007.  We are holders of The London Youth Gold Quality Mark and have an average annual membership in excess of 250.

Unfortunately due to the current situations, all programs delivered at our youth club have been put on hold, however we are working tirelessly to adapt as many of these as possible to be accessed remotely, as we acknowledge that vulnerable young people are facing even more challenges during these times including a strain on mental health, being confined within overcrowded homes and poor living conditions and lack of many basic provisions.

To this end we have set up the following emergency measures:

    1. A new phone hotline, where YP can access recorded sessions, 1:1 support from our volunteer mentors, join conference chats with other members  and hear from leading experts and volunteers on how to navigate these times and the support that is available for them.
    2. The creation and delivery of packs for 60 of our members that have been flagged as most vulnerable.  Packs include essential items, home activities and pamphlets listing support services available to them.
    3. Supporting our staff, volunteers and Youth Advisory Group to work remotely so that young people can still access support and we can prepare an action plan on how to deal with the aftermath.
    4. The purchase of laptops and equipment for volunteers and users to enable them to access some of our services remotely and continue keeping Teen Action running.

The above changes have occured due to unforseen circumstances and have therefore not been budgeted for.  In order to deliver a fully effective Covid provision and prepare for increased demand as an aftermath, we recquire additional unrestricted funding from our community, friends and supporters.

Every small donation counts – please help us adapt our provision during this time and ensure that local young people are taken care of.

We have already received a generous grant of £500 from The Greggs Foundation towards these costs – Thank you!

Will you join along with them and help us?
