We are a project that aims to build community resilience through pro-environmental behaviour and to measure the impact that conservation volunteering has on individuals and groups with the final aim of improving the support we provide to community groups. By measuring the strength of community groups we hope to better identify where we can best target resources and deliver support, whilst discovering what types of support would be most beneficial.

We start by putting you in touch with a Greener Living Champion who comes to you to deliver the workshop. They will lead you through sustainability discussions and games. The discussion lead workshop may identify connections and skills that have not yet been assessed. This will broaden your group’s knowledge of its accessible skill base and contacts, giving solutions to current problems and establishing future possibilities. We would like to invite all community groups to be involved in this project no matter how big or small. We can be very flexible to fit in with group’s plans and needs. We would like to continue our support and contact with all community groups involved, but do not force any commitments or future involvement.

Additionally or separately we are inviting community group members to complete an Individual Action Plan. This is a simple 3 minute questionnaire, and then an achievable personal goal is written down for our records. We do this because research shows an individual is more likely accomplish their goals if they personally set them and write them down. This is then followed up with another questionnaire in a few months to measure change.

By joining these workshops you are helping to improve the support The Conservation Volunteers provide to community groups. For your help we are offering £100 to each participating group, to spend in The Conservation Volunteers online shop. This money can be used to buy tools, equipment, seeds and training ( All groups involved will also have a profile written about them in our London wide News Letter, where we can promote your group and advertise any upcoming events or volunteer days. Also Green Impacts are now offering your community group  £10 vouchers to spend in our online shop per Individual Action Plan, with a maximum of £100 per group.
