Sustainable Fashion Week
Project Category: Community Interest Company
In September 2021 we’ll be curating a week of creative, community-led activity that celebrates the many ways we can begin new fashion habits that don’t harm people or planet. Our focus will not be on next season’s trends but instead will be on inspiring, empowering and upskilling the community, to equip them for a more sustainable relationship with fashion. We want to generate action, from the ground up.
We want everyone to be part of our flagship event in 2021. The majority of our programme is a curation of community-led events – that means people in the community inspiring and empowering other people in the community. Sustainable fashion will be relevant to people in different ways and we want everyone to engage with it in ways that work for their backgrounds, identities and incomes.
Sustainable Fashion Week is run by a team of committed volunteers and our messaging is supported by a growing team of voluntary ambassadors, both helping to increase our community outreach and shape the programme for our September event. We’ll curate a week and a Fringe of clothes swaps, repair cafes, mending circles, skills workshops, talks, film screenings, panel discussions, live workshops, a buzzing marketplace… and more.
