Our Story
SuDS for Schools is a project being run in partnership by the Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust, Environment Agency and Thames Water. We are working with schools in the Pymmes Brook catchment in North London to improve the quality of water reaching the brook. We are working with schools to build more sustainable drainage systems which may include rainwater harvesting, swales, rain gardens, reed beds, green walls, green roofs and/or other water friendly garden and landscape features. The SuDS will provide participating schools with a learning resource and will demonstrate how SuDS can be applied in a variety of retro-fit settings. The project will increase the wider community’s awareness and uptake of SuDS and bring about more sustainable behavior in relation to water use and water quality issues.
SuDS design is being undertaken by WWT Consulting.
