  • Our Story

We are a Rochdale tenants and residents association who over the years have been working to convert a derelict piece of land, complete with burned out cars etc, into a thriving area for wildlife. We now have more than 72 species of flowering plants, 40 + invertebrate species and a 13 species of bird, on the site , in the middle of an urban area.

The group is made up of people from all walks of life; the elderly, unemployed, people from different ethnic backgrounds, asylum seekers and those with health issues. Working on this project helps to build self-esteem. create well-being, provide new skills, and most importantly brings people together to make new friends and promote harmony within the community.

We welcome everyone to come and help in whatever way they can to help us create this haven for wildlife.
