Our Story
The Edible Yard is a community food growing space created in 2017 at the back of St Lukes Community Centre, in central London. The garden is built on top of a paved parking space, with the aim to show what can be achieved in a much urbanised setting. The Edible Yard features ten big raised beds with hundreds of edible plants and flowers, a greenhouse, shed, several composting methods, a wormery, a wildlife patch and tables as well as chairs to sit and enjoy the greenery. Also coming soon: a henhouse, a pizza oven, more raised beds and lots of new things for the new 2018 growing season. The Edible Yard is maintained by the St Luke Food Growers Group every Thursday afternoon, from mid-February to November.
