Our Story
Springwell Community Memory Gardens lies in the heart of Springwell Estate and is the largest community asset in Gateshead. The garden is just under an acre in size and was badly neglected after being abandoned for 5 years before Silverline Memories took over the Lease in 2016. The garden has undergone a transformation over the last year to a state where it can now be enjoyed once again by the local community. The garden has been replanted, and with the additions of an EcoLoo, wildlife garden and breakout area is ready for the year ahead.
We plan for the garden to be used for Social Therapeutic Horticulture for the first time, to allow people living with dementia to fully experience the benefits that can be gained in physical and mental health by gardening.
