Sleaford Navigation Bank Improvements
Project Category: Registered charity
The riverbank in this part of Sleaford has, over the years, become very eroded exposing the tree roots. This has been exacerbated by the large population of ducks that have worn the grass away in the area. These factors have created a very poor environment for both the fish and mammal populations
Working in conjunction with Sleaford Town Council and the Environment Agency the Trust will be installing coir roll soft bank protection. The space created behind the coir rolls will be infilled with earth to build up a new riverbank and finally the coir rolls will be planted with suitable aquatic plants to create a more natural riverbank. This will make a much improved habitat.
