  • Our Story

This is our second project utilising Greggs Foundation funding which we are extremely grateful for as it is our only source of funding.

We intend to purchase more equipment including children’s gardening tools. We will select at least 2 alleyways in a highly deprived area of our town which is usually heavily littered. We will work with residents to try to turn these alleyways into places to be proud of and maybe even to relax in and enhance community enjoyment. We will also do the same with at least one open space.

We will also organise education sessions in our local community centres to teach how to keep the areas litter free, the benefits of doing so and also how to plant in pots and care for the same.

Our first pictures show residents whom we have liaised with, cleaning their alleyway to commence the project.

Our principle is always to help people to change and instead of going in and doing something for people we encourage them to work with us and do a great deal of the work themselves – this is often slower and may not be exactly as we would do it but that is not important.
