The Bowls Club extended the Club Room in order to maximise usage for 12 months of the year. Being an outdoor bowls club the Club Room was used very little in the winter months.  Since the extension was completed, the usage has increased to include yoga, fitness, bridge classes, short mat bowls, coffee mornings and community events making it a hub for activities in the area and giving opportunities to a wider range of people, especially elderly who are unable to undertake outdoor activities.  Unfortunately, lack of funds curtailed the project and the Club was unable to improve and replace electrical facilities in the old part of the building.  It would make a big difference, both from creating better light for the users participating in the facilities but also the installation of Eco lighting would be more economic and environmentally friendly.  As the Club is self financing and run by volunteers, funding for projects is critical to provide a suitable environment for the community and members work exceedingly hard to keep costs economic in order to attract a wide range of users, from all backgrounds.
