Our Story
Children and community’s around the River Dee and the estuary are becoming more aware of plastics and non-biodegradable rubbish getting swept into our rivers and oceans and plastic reduction is becoming a more popular notion. However, there is still a long way to go. We want to work with groups of local children and or families, educate them on the issues, clean up the riverbanks. We will also create a social media film that educates the community on the importance of creating a ‘Plastic Free Dee’. The project will consist of 4 clean up days. each will include an environmental workshop and a litter pick – educating participants and cleaning up rubbish that could go into the river and be swept out to sea. 80% of plastics in our oceans come from the land and the rivers provide a pathway.
