Our Story
Our mission is to help refugee and asylum-seeking women living in London find strength through yoga.
The women we work with are seeking refuge in the UK. We believe they should be welcomed.
Atrocities such as torture, sexual violence in conflict, human trafficking and female genital mutilation (FGM) are common experiences.
Yoga helps to restore self-esteem and confidence. It helps to make the body and mind strong, and it helps you sleep. It also gives you energy and, we’re often told, hope.
We run free yoga classes and refund the cost of travel. Our classes are based on Ashtanga Yoga (physically demanding) and Mindfulness (meditation techniques).
We actively support campaigns challenging government policies that negatively affect these women in our own country.
