  • Our Story

Opened in 1977, Newham City Farm is one of London’s longest established, as well as one of its largest city farms. We are home to an extensive range of farmyard favorites and rare breeds – we have everything from a huge Shire Horse to tiny birds as well as cows, sheep, alpacas, goats, chickens, rabbits, fish, a peacock and even a harris hawk. We have a recently established Community Gardening Group of over 40 people of all ages that meet once a week and are expanding our provision week by week, we are growing a variety of produce and are going to be starting our exotic green house in the new year! We have a wildlife area and community orchard on site as well as composting and recycling programs. There is also a Community Cafe on site which is currently run as a training cafe for adults with learning disabilities.
