Our Story
We are Mudchute Park & Farm, one of the largest city farms in London with 32 acres of countryside in the middle of the Isle of Dogs. Offering a bit of countryside in the city, we are open to the public all year free of charge. As a charity, we work closely with the local community and provide many opportunities to gain hands on interaction with and learn about a wide range of rural activities. We are home to nearly 200 farm animals (most of which are rare and native breeds) as well as an active equestrian centre.
With such a large space covering a wide range of habitats and ranging from open habitats to woodland to field margins and gardens, there are opportunities of all sorts and a wide range of ongoing projects, from working directly with our animals, to construction projects, habitat management, and more! We would love for hard-working, enthusiastic volunteers to get in touch to find out how they can apply their unique skills (and/or learn new ones) with us!
