Motion Control Dance was registered as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in May 2015 by the Charity Commission with an aim ‘ to ‘advance the education of people all ages, living in the Vale of Glamorgan and the surrounding areas, in the performing arts, particularly the art of dance, for the benefit of the public.’  Through provision of classes, workshops, training and performance opportunities, we have created many memorable experiences for over a decade with a mission is to Enrich Lives Through  Movement.

Our community programme focus upon children, young people and adults, those with disabilities, older people as well as socially deprived members of the community, with the aim to increase general health and well being, through the medium of dance.   We have worked with schools and local organisations, delivering dance projects to engage physical participation, increase confidence and self esteem, develop social skills and create new friendship groups, develop motor skills and increase physical fitness along with physical literacy and numeracy.  Our projects were delivered throughout the community with the opportunities to showcase their dance pieces at local community events and competitions.    Opportunities are provided for those wishing to pursue a career in the field of dance or for those who want to volunteer their services by supporting our sessions.   These are delivered by outstanding dance tutors with plenty of experience and qualifications in their field to ensure high quality dance experience.

Motion Control Dance worked with 2358 individuals from Sept 2017 – August 2018 of all ages and abilities.  Projects were delivered by a team of 7 freelance dance tutors on a weekly basis alongside the Managing Director and 6 young volunteers.   We pride ourselves in being unique to our region as we are the only community dance charity that focuses on government health and well being agendas.

Thank you to #Greggsforgood for supporting our project and helping us to purchase new equipment for our disability, kids and older people movement sessions and also helping to raise the capital to have our new sprung floor installed in our studio which will help us enrich more lives in our community.
