Our Story
MCF collect old bikes and wheelchairs, and use them for vocational maintenance training for hundreds of people in prisons and the community. Some restored bikes are sold at affordable prices in MCF Community Bikerys, but most are donated through partner organisations to disadvantaged people locally and around the world.
Over our first five years, MCF saved 7,112 bikes and 711 wheelchairs from landfill. We trained volunteers and mechanics at our three Community Bikerys how to look after their bikes, giving people long-term, car-free travel.
Every year, 500+ prisoners and 150 people in the community are trained for free by MCF.
