At the beginning of the Covid 19 pandemic, like all other churches up and down the country, we sadly closed our buildings.
Both Warley Baptist Church and Kings Community Church worked to compile a list of isolated and vulnerable people in the community known to them through their existing extensive community projects, and they have taken referrals to add recipients to the list. People can opt to have both meals, or just one per week, and we are doing our best to suit dietary requirements. At present the project is delivering 66 portions of a hot meal plus dessert on a Wednesday and 91 portions plus desert on a Friday.

On the allotted days, a joint team of drivers arrives at whichever venue is cooking. After ensuring we comply with correct social distancing the drivers are given a delivery list of address and a total number of portions. The drivers then collect the required number of paper bags and head out into the community to deliver a hot meal to some of the most isolated and vulnerable.

A Massive thank you to the Greggs Foundation Emergency Fund for their grant of £300 for our Lunch in the Community Project. #Greggs4good
