Our Story
LEAP is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation which helps the residents of Lochwinnoch, Kilbarchan, Howwood and Bridge of Weir save money and energy. We offer free impartial advice on insulation, draught proofing, heating, renewable energy generation, grants and subsidies. In addition, we carry out draught tests and thermal images on residents’ properties to highlight problem areas.
We also run a Car Club in two of our villages, Lochwinnoch and Bridge of Weir, where residents can join and hire a car for as little or as long as they like.
LEAP also has an education function, and works with nurseries, primary and secondary schools, for example, organising bulb and tree planting and our ‘ecoclips’ competition in conjunction with Young Scot.
We also support local residents, an community groups, for example, in running a transport survey, setting up the ‘Eat Lochwinnoch’ group which promotes eating local, seasonal food and ‘Grow Kilbarchan’ which encourages community growing projects.
