I’m Terry Reilly, project manager for this scheme. On about a fifth of an acre of land which abuts The Rotunda community college and Stanley Rd., we aim to create a gardens which can be used by the residents of Kirkdale, members, volunteers and users of the college, and indeed anybody who may appreciate them. As the picture suggests, the area is particularly bleak.

This scheme is to create a beautiful series of gardens with ornamental, native woodland and country garden areas. There will also be a kitchen garden which will provide organic produce both for the community and the new bistro.

The Rotunda is based in one of the last remaining Georgian terraces in North Liverpool. We have just refurbished the end terrace. Here is not only the bistro-cafe, but from the end of October there will be a new heritage centre, telling the story of Kirkdale.

And next to this beautiful building will be the gardens. These are designed to be particularly striking and attractive. We will need volunteers both to help construct and maintain them. We will welcome help and advice on anything from fundraising to compost. We hope to start very soon.

Anyone who is interested can contact me and I will be only too happy to discuss any aspect of the project and planning with them.

The Rotunda is based in one of the last remaining Georgian terraces in North Liverpool.
