Our Story
HyTEC, the Hydrogen Transport in European Cities project brings together 16 partners from 5 EU member states (UK, Denmark, Belgium, Germany and Spain). HyTEC will create two new European hydrogen passenger vehicle deployment centres in London and Copenhagen cities that are developing and adopting ultra-low carbon urban transport solutions.
The project will demonstrate up to 40 new hydrogen vehicles (fully certified) in the hands of real customers, in three vehicle classes supplied by leading global OEMs:
· Taxis;
· Passenger cars;
· Scooters.
The vehicles will be supported by new hydrogen refueling facilities, which together with existing deployments will lead to new infrastructure networks allowing different concepts to be tested and compared:
a) on-site hydrogen production (Copenhagen);
b) hydrogen delivery (London).
HyTEC will consider the life cycle impact of the vehicles and fuelling networks, while it will uncover the non-technical barriers to commercialisation.
The project is part of the Cluster London Hydrogen Partnership.
