Hotspur Nature Garden Intervention

Project Category: Public Sector organisationProject Tags:

  • Our Story

The project will develop part of the school’s grounds into a nature garden
that will be designed to enable the school to deliver forest school
interventions for disadvantaged pupils and their families throughout the
year; during school time, after school and during holiday periods.
A large amount of evidence suggests that outdoor learning is hugely
beneficial for disadvantaged pupils.  Non-cognitive skills such as
perseverance and resilience are developed through adventure learning and that
these skills have a knock-on impact on academic outcomes.  Participants in
this type of programme also benefit from improved mental health and general
    wellbeing.
