    Helping Highfield School Ely Bloom

Highfield School Ely supports children and young people aged 2 to 19 with special educational needs. The school building has recently been modernised and extended to better meet the needs of its learners. A result of this building work has been a boggy, muddy, weedy corner of the campus which everyone wants to transform into fully accessible sensory garden and outdoor learning area.  We have started, with the help of the pupil’s gardening club, to establish raised beds and growing areas but now we are looking at ways to create a natural garden full of sensory experiences for all our pupils, particularly those with profound and multiple learning disabilities.
