Our Story
Charlton Manor Primary School is working with Chris Collins-Blue Peter Horticulturalist, Olivier Blanc- Creator of Henri Le Worm app and Woodlands Farm Trust on a community garden project.
We have been allocated land on the farm to create a growing/cooking garden with an outdoor classroom, kitchen and chill out zone. The project will provide locally grown produce to sell at the farm and profits made will go back into the maintenance of the garden.
It will allow parents/carers to take their children to the farm and have access to a healthy meal with produce grown by school children. The families and communities will have access to the farm during the school holidays and is a fantastic way to unite the local communities.
The area will include herb gardens, fruit trees, native plants, composting area and lots of produce.
Children will be involved in the development of the garden and will use the produce grown to cook healthy meals.
Please visit our school website and click on ‘Top News’ ‘Woodlands Farm Trust’ to find out more and see the garden plans.
