  • Our Story

International attention remains firm on Venezuela but the suffering of the people is only getting worse.

Thousands are fleeing because of hunger, lack of healthcare, government intimidation and so much more. 35,000 people cross the border from Venezuela to Colombia each day.

In 2017, the average Venezuelan lost over 11 kg in weight due to malnutrition. The situation is grave. Thousands have already died.

However, there are smalls bands of people who have very little, who give their lives to offer what they have to those who need it the most, just across the border in Colombia.

Martha is an amazing example of this. She has a small shop on the main road, 15 km from the border at Cúcuta, where she voluntarily provides food, water, sanitation and refuge to the many who pass each day, walking in 35 degree heat, to other parts of the country or continent.

The only thing she asks in return is they leave a note of love. One of these read:

‘Martha, thanks for giving us hope when there was none!’

Casa Venezuela is found close to the border and is ran by a committed group of volunteers. It’s often the first point of food, sanitation and support for people in need. They’re currently feeding over 500 people a day. They aim to reach so many more.

Neither Martha or Casa Venezuela receives any government support. Everyone gives what they have voluntarily and the only source of funding they have is from people like you.

They want to do so much more, they can do so much more, but they don’t have the resources. With your help they can.

All the money received from this campaign will go directly to them.

By donating to their amazing work, you will be contributing to the support of so many people in need.

To give you an idea of the impact your funding can have, at Casa Venezuela:

    – £5 ($6.50) – provides breakfast to 25 people
    – £50 ($66) –  buys a large quantity of medicine and hygiene supplies, helping over 100 people
    – £500 ($663) – helps ensure lasting and ongoing support until the situation is resolved

Please donate and share this page so their voices are heard across the world.

Thank you so much and we’ll keep you updated with what your contributions have achieved.

Together we can make a big difference to the people of Venezuela.
