Harbury Energy Initiative
Project Category: Informal community group
Harbury Energy Initiative is a village low carbon group with a considerable success rate at implementing low carbon solutions in our village in Warwickshire. Since our founding in 2010 we have help our community buildings by internal wall insulation in the community library, cavity wall and roof insulation in the Rugby Club clubhouse, 19kW battery energy store and solar PV monitor at the village hall, LED lighting throughout and 12kWp solar array on the school, LED lighting for the Scout Hut. HEI is also behind the creation of Harbury e-Wheels and Low Carbon Warwickshire Network, both separate projects listed on Semble. The latest project is to create a charging station in the village for EVs, using a small vertical axis wind turbine and solar panels and energy store to provide a significant proportion of the energy.
