Our Story
Exeter Foodbank provides emergency food for local people in crisis via a voucher referral system.
We are a small, volunteer-centred charity with a big heart and a big vision: to support local people in crisis and ensure that no one in and around the city of Exeter goes hungry.
We work in partnership with around 120 referral agencies including schools, health services & the CAB to provide food and further support for those in need. We are reliant on the generosity of the local community for nearly every food item we give out, and benefit from the incredible efforts of our 110+ volunteers.
In 2015/16, we provided 3 days worth of emergency food for 4,384 people (of which 1,200 were children). Our beneficiaries come from a broad cross-section of the community; they include families, young people, the unemployed and those in work.
The motto of the Trussell Trust, to which we are affiliated, is restoring dignity, reviving hope; we strive to reflect this in all we do.
