- Our Story
Support for young people and children who have experienced any form of abuse or violence.
Established in April 1994, 18U provides information and support to young people who have been abused in any way. The support we offer depends on the needs of the young person and it is confidential. We do not write down information about young people, unless the young person asks us to do so. We do not record names and addresses and only keep contact information as long as it is needed to contact the young person.
We are using our Greggs 4 Good funding to go out in the evenings to carry out street work and reach young people who are living on the streets or are involved in sexual exploitation on the streets. We want to be able to reach them and provide them with information about safety and support services which can help them. These young people are at huge risk, many are care leavers, many are at the start of misusing alcohol and drums and many have mental health problem. Through reaching them we can support them to find positive solutions to their problems and provide them with practical and emotional support to help them get off the streets.
