Edible Hexham – upping our impact on local food production
Project Category: Community Business
- Our Story
Edible Hexham are thrilled to have recieved funding from Greggs to allow us to continue to engage with the public on sustainability and local food production.
Using plants grown in the community garden, Edible Hexham will stock planters and beds across town with a greater variety of herb and vegetable seedlings than previously, involving extra volunteers, including disadvantaged members of the community. They will extend their across-town plantings to Hexham railway station to impact on visitors to the town and up the sustainability of the town’s plantings. They will install 3 interpretation boards at public plantings to inform about plants and their uses. Working with others, they will map their plantings, and make a Trail Map available in Hexham Tourist Office.
We look forward to sharing our progress with you! Thank you to the Greggs Foundation for the support. #GreggsForGood
