Our Story
Dulwich Vegetable Garden (DVG) was established in 2009 to encourage anyone interested to learn how to grow their own produce. The garden is behind Rosebery Lodge at the far end of Dulwich Park, adjacent to Dulwich Riding School on Dulwich Common. We grow fruit and veg organically within the limitations of a plot rather shaded by trees in the park and riding stables. Volunteers share the produce when it is harvested. We make our own compost and have a thriving wormery for fertiliser. We learn as we go along – no expertise needed, just a willingness to help. We’ve got gloves and equipment, a small greenhouse, polytunnel and lots of raised beds. The wooden ones are rotting so we are gradually replacing then with recycled plastic ones. We’re always looking for more help. Join us on Sundays and Wednesdays, 10.30-12.30. We’re a sociable bunch and enjoy our break for coffee, biscuits and putting the world to rights. If it has been wet, do wear wellies, and even if it hasn’t, please wear sensible shoes. If you need to contact us, email dulwichveggarden@gmail.com. We don’t have a website, nor is the DVG signposted in the park – look for Rosebery Lodge instead. PLEASE NOTE, WE ARE CLOSED TO NEW VOLUNTEERS AND VISITORS AT PRESENT BECAUSE OF COVID. Sorry!
