We will be constructing a 2.4m diameter Hugh Piggott design DIY Wind Turbine which will stand separate from buildings on open ground on a 8m steel tower, supported and anchored by steel guy ropes. It will be built by members of our community in a 6-day workshop instructed by the DIY Renewable Energy Cooperative V3 Power.

We are in discussion with the Earth Trust about permanent siting of the wind turbine at their demonstration site at Little Wittenham, which is regularly visited by schools, farming groups and walkers. Senior staff and trustees have expressed provisional interest and will be investigating the practicalities, including a visit to a similar project near Sheffield. The turbine will generate clean electricity and save at least 1 tonne CO2e annually.
