  • Our Story

Creating a new green growing community garden including raised beds, pathways and relaxing areas. Incorporating historical and environmental interpretation and community events. Memorial and peace will be important themes running through the garden and giving the public opportunities to commemorate their own losses.

The site has a rich history as a burial ground for the ‘outcast dead’ currently focused on the much-visited memorial gates only. We are creating a vital historic link between this Victorian burial ground, nearby Redcross Garden and the site of the children’s hospital at Mint St Park.

A space for people to relax and come together: the site is intended for all user groups and will be wheelchair accessible. A stage/ performance area has been included in the plans, thus allowing a gathering space for people to appreciate the park and its atmosphere.

We’re lucky to have received funding from the Mayor of London’s Pocket Parks programme.
