The Community in Cradley are joining together with Severn Rivers Trust and the Greggs Foundation to clean up the River Stour. Right in the heart of the Black Country this project at Lodge Forge in Cradley and the surrounding area of greenspace.

The area is underused by local people because of litter and antisocial behaviour. With thanks to the Greggs Foundation, we will create a river oasis for people and wildlife and celebrate with fun, family events to increase health and wellbeing.

Over the course of 2021 onsite improvement works are going to see the instillation of a reedbed to help clean polluted waters prior to them entering the River Stour the construction of a boardwalk to enable access to the site.

2021 is also going to see the delivery of a number of onsite walks and talks, education sessions and working with existing local community groups. It is hoped to use this project to develop a community group who will support the River Stour.
