Our Story
We have partnered up with Groundwork London to offer a variety of community learning opportunities to the local community. From our well-equipped Teaching Room at the New Horizon Centre, with the help of our colleagues at Groundwork London, we are able to offer: Paediatric 1st Aid training (4 weeks); a workshop on teenagers and drugs and alcohol for parents, grandparents and carers, ESOL (English as a Secondary Language) from beginners level upwards, local history, horiculture and gardening and much, much more!
This is a very exciting time for us and our Step Forward team is keen to promote these opportunities to local parents who are looking for exciting and creative learning opportunities as well as defining their own steps in their careers or pathways to paid work. We can help with this, as we offer advice and guidance and can identify further training, jobs and volunteering opportunities for all our participants, as well as advice about housing difficulties, confusion with welfare benefit changes, anxiety about childrens’ behaviours etc.
We can even help you to access free childcare at 2 years plus if you are eligible (and find out if you are).
We are based in a very welcoming and busy community centre that is easily reached by bus and there is free parking too.
Our community cafe runs 8am – 2pm and we also run after-school activities for primary-school aged children so there is alwas a good reason to drop in and find out more.
