  • Our Story

We meet on Mondays at Chetton Village Hall, near Bridgnorth, in the heart of the Shropshire countryside. Gentle exercise takes place , suitable for all, progressing from being seated to standing , if wished. This is followed by a period of recovery, with tea, coffee and biscuits with plenty of time to chat. Many of our community live in isolated spots and the opportunity to get out of their homes and meet others helps combat loneliness, the exercise improves mobility and therefore people benefit by staying independent and in their own homes . We started this with a grant from Awards for All, so this could be offered free of charge, since then we have had support from The Prince of Wales Charitable Foundation, Shropshire Rural Community Council, The William Cadbury Foundation and the Grimmitt Trust as well as being nominated by Waitrose Wolverhampton community matters green token scheme. The project has been embraced by the community, people offering lifts to those unable to get to us and the events on at the hall are better supported because people know what is going on, as communication in rural areas can be difficult. We could not have done this without our very well qualified and excellent instructor, she has level 3 Pilates and is used to dealing with cardiac fitness. We have just passed our  second birthday and celebrated with a cake, see photo below.
