The group was established in June 2013 and their first project was the Jubilee Gardens, Astle Court. Following the success of this the group raised over £6,500 to provide a Community Greenhouse. Thank you to all our Sponsors which included Peaks & Plains Housing Trust, Manchester Airport, Cheshire Community Foundation, Cheshire East Council, Chelford Parish Council,  Cooperative Bank and The Sunflower Foundation. The group also entered the Skipton Building Society’s Grassroots Scheme and was delighted to have been in the top 160 receiving a £500 grant to support its work.

In 2013 we undertook a Bulb Bowl Day after receiving funding from Trafford Hall National Communities Resource Centre. The group is holding a Spring Plant Fair on Saturday 5th April 2014 to raise funds, the perennials on sale all raised by the project.

The group achieved an award from the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) It’s Your Neighbourhood” in 2013. We were really proud of this and as it was the first year of the projects operation expected to get an Award at Level 1 or 2 (Establishing or Improving) we were amazed when we received a Level 3 Award “Developing”

Great thanks must go to all our dedicated volunteers who give their time freely to improve our neighbourhood.
