Historic Bowring Park is Knowsley’s oldest municipal park, established when the Georgian Roby Hall estate was gifted in 1906 by Alderman WB Bowring to the people of Liverpool after the adoption of the Open Spaces Act 1906. Knowsley Council, working with our partners, has successfully passed Stage 1 of a Heritage Lottery Fund ‘Parks for People’ Application. We are now developing our detailed plans for the restoration of Bowring Park and have launched www.restorebowringpark.co.uk to seek support and involvement from local residents and local groups and service providers to shape the future of this important historical gem within the Merseyside area. Please visit our website and find out how you could get involved in this exciting project and support us in securing a possible £2million of Heritage Lottery Funding for historic Bowring Park.
