    The vision for Bellenden Road Nature Garden is to return it to its former glory- a garden with a range of  habitat types that encourages wildlife and engages the public in local wildlife.

    I am looking for volunteers interested in helping us on work days to achieve these goals!

    The first few work days will aim at getting the site back to a good shape;e.g. re-forming some of the original areas in the garden (like the woodland walkway & the minibeast village) and having a general clean-up. These will be held on advertised Tuesdays.

    The first volunteer work day will be held Tuesday 22nd October, 1-4pm. We will be meeting at the nature garden at 1pm. Gloves and tools will be provided but please wear suitable outdoor clothing and footwear.

    Tasks include;

    Ø  Litter pick

    Ø  Selective felling of trees encroaching onto grassland

    Ø  Dead hedging using felled material

    Ø  Weed the raised beds and plant with seasonal veg

    Ø  Pull saplings

    Ø  Weed pathways/install path edging using felled material

    If you can’t stay for the whole day, don’t worry- come along for as long as you can!

    Please let me know if you are planning on coming along!

    The address lists Highshore School for the purpose of using Google maps. We are located opposite the school, not inside!
