  • Our Story

We are a project working with adults with learning disabilities in Winchester. We have just re opened after a 5 month closure due to COVID-19.

We are currently only working at our allotment as we feel this is a safe and health environment. Our project members are really enjoying having somewhere safe and peaceful to come and have benefitted massively after such a long time in lockdown.

We would like to put a shelter with fire pit and outdoor kitchen on one of our plots. This would allow our project members to continue coming to the allotment during the winter months, hopefully cooking lots of winter vegetable soup to keep us warm!

The shelter could also provide a space for some of the creative opportunities we provide such as art workshops and photography.

COVID-19 has forced us to reconsider many things, about our project and in all aspects of our lives. We feel that providing our project members with healthy outdoor opportunities is a positive response to what has been a very challenging time for many of the people we work with.
