Access Dorset is a registered charity organised and ran by disabled people, older people and carers. We have created a vibrant community resource at The Bridge in Bournemouth where we and our partners deliver a combination of diverse activities focused on tackling isolation and exclusion; promote independence and equality; empower people to achieve personal goals and overcome social and economic barriers.

With the support of the Greggs Foundation Grant fund, local business and volunteers we are transforming a large concrete Courtyard into a haven of calm, using plants and natural materials that engage senses of sight, smell, touch, taste and sound, to create a sensory garden where disabled people, older people and carers can feel safe and comfortable whilst exploring their personal senses and connecting with others. The green environment created will become a welcome home to insects and birds in our locality.
