About you

I’m a geography teacher at Glebe School. I am also Chair of the London Sustainable Schools Forum. I have been working at Glebe since 1996. It is a school for secondary age students with complex needs. I gradually developed my approach I now call ‘digging geography’ which is heavily inspired by the students and staff at Glebe School along with the concepts of ‘place-based learning’ and sustainable schools. I try to get students out of the classroom to explore their world, make connections to the wider world and consider ways that they can improve their school and local area.
