Join Semble as Campaigns and Marketing Assistant: a 6-month paid internship via the Kickstart scheme

Semble is looking for a bright, energetic and enthusiastic young person (aged 18-24) to work with us across our Campaigns and Marketing teams.

In collaboration with the government’s Kickstart scheme, we are recruiting for 2 x Campaigns and Marketing Assistants, to join our team for six-months as a fully-paid intern. One of these roles will be based in London, the other in Bristol. Both roles will be paid at the Real Living Wage (£11.05 per hour in London; £9.90 in Bristol).

Please note: to be eligible for these roles, candidates must currently be aged 18-24 and claiming Universal Credit.

About the role

The Campaigns and Marketing Assistant will work on an interesting variety of projects and tasks, helping with administration, research, design and project delivery.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the planning and delivery of various campaigns and projects
  • Support, celebrate and promote our campaigns on social media
  • Help with the monitoring and evaluation of campaigns
  • Work as part of a team ensuring good team work and communication
  • Contribute to research – for example to support campaign strategy and to identity new opportunities for business development
  • Support the Product and Marketing teams – helping recruit new community projects to the ActionFunder platform as well as helping manage the existing community

About you

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have an interest in social impact projects and/or community action
  • Are keen to learn about how businesses and communities can work together
  • Have good communication skills – written and verbal
  • Like meeting and working with a diverse range of people and groups

Ideally the candidate will have some experience or knowledge of Microsoft applications (e.g. Word, Excel) and/or Google applications (such as Google Docs, Google Slides, Google Sheets). 

The most important thing is to be enthusiastic, hardworking and keen to learn!

About Kickstart

The Kickstart Scheme makes up part of the Government’s ‘Plan for Jobs’ skills and employment programmes, which also include Apprenticeships, T Levels and Traineeships.

The Kickstart Scheme offers six-month jobs for young people aged 16 to 24 years old who are currently claiming Universal Credit and are at risk of long-term unemployment.

Useful information

  • Initially this is a part-time role, 25 hours per week. There may be an opportunity to increase the working hours after the 1st month of employment, but this cannot be guaranteed
  • To be paid at the Real Living Wage
  • 6 month placement via the Kickstart scheme
  • A combination of office-based working (in London or Bristol) and working from home where possible.

About the Author:

Keir is a project officer based in Semble's Bristol office. Most of his time is spent on two of our movement campaigns, Outdoor Classroom Day and Backyard Nature. One of Keir’s main interests is food equality and outside of Semble he runs a small community food waste project.
