The Comic Relief Community Fund (England), funded by Comic Relief will support and invest in grassroots community-led local organisations in England to drive change in their local communities.
Project delivery grants of up to £4000 will support grassroots organisations to deliver projects that address Comic Relief’s four strategic themes. These are:
- Children Survive and Thrive
- Fighting for Gender Justice
- A Safe Place to Be
- Mental Health Matters
The Fund wants to support community-led organisations to deliver change by drawing on the ‘lived experiences’ of people who have experienced the issues being tackled.
Project delivery grants are to fund direct work with beneficiaries. Projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving a grant. Capacity-building grants of up to £500 are also available for developing better organisational governance, policies and procedures to increasing understanding of beneficiary needs, to increasing organisational delivery capacity.
The types of projects funded is very broad. This could be hiring venues to run activities, paying co-ordinators to manage volunteer-led services, paying staff to lead activities or training sessions, employing outreach support workers, improving indoor and outdoor facilities to reach new groups or paying volunteer expenses to deliver activities and services. They can also fund items, materials and equipment needed for your project.. This list is not exhaustive, and consideration is given to any projects that can deliver against one of the four strategic themes.
