Through funding received from the Greggs Foundation three of our Sporting Memories clubs (Eastleigh, Southampton and Winchester) have been playing with new equipment as part of their weekly club.

After sitting down to reminisce about sport, older people 50+ who maybe socially isolated, do not take part in other activities, spend days without any social interaction, maybe living with conditions such as dementia, depression and/or have increasingly limited mobility get the sports equipment out and play against each other improving both their mental and physical well-being.

At times, this does get a little competitive but participants are transported back to their playing and watching days and supports the older people to move more and take part in other activities outside of the club.

Thanks #Greggs4good for helping make an impact.
