With the global climate crisis receiving high profile coverage with widespread protests around the world, work is ongoing to shape a local response here in Wirral.

Comments are now invited on a new climate change strategy for Wirral.  The Cool Wirral Partnership has been working to shape the new strategy.  A variety of engagement events and activities have already been held this year to help develop the new framework.  The resultant draft strategy attempts to translate what the UN’s Paris Agreement on climate change means for our local area.  It indicates key goals and objectives to be met, the direction of travel needed and some early steps.  It indicates some huge changes are required and that we need to cut CO2 emissions by three and a half times more each year than has been achieved so far.  The draft is now available for comment.  The consultation is open to 7th October.  Please read the strategy before taking the survey.
