News from the Community Gardens September 2020

Grape vine doing well at the Bishop’s Palace Vegetable Plot.

We hope that you are all still keeping well. With the recent covid restrictions being tightened we’ve had to keep session numbers small to keep it safe for everyone, so if you would like to attend one of the gardening sessions please contact us as below to book a session slot, as we unfortunately cannot currently accommodate individuals if they just turn up on the day.

This recent hot spell feels as though it could be the last before we head into autumn so let’s enjoy it and be out in the gardens whilst we can. The Chichester Festival Theatre orchard gave a great crop of apple to share around and there is still lots of colour in the borders at the Bishop’s Palace Vegetable Plot with sunflowers still blooming and the sedum showing their lovely autumnal colours.

There is still lots to harvest including chard, leeks, spinach, courgettes, blackberries and the last of the beans. Looking ahead we’ve even been harvesting and drying the honesty for making Christmas decorations which seems rather a long way away!

Please do come and see us but remember to book a session before coming.
